In a now-viral TikTok, a student couldn’t hide his displeasure after learning that his math teacher stepped out of their virtual class to handle some personal business.
On Jan. 27, user @gabbmcc shared a recording in which his teacher, identified as Brooker Brooks, excuses himself to help his son.
“Guys, it’s gonna be a minute,” Brooks says. “I have to go help my son with something. He’s writing a test right now. Just give me a sec.”

As soon as Brooks leaves, one student, Evan Wilson, makes a sarcastic comment about the teacher’s behavior.
“So Mr. Brooks’ son gets help from a professional math teacher on his math test is what I’m hearing,” Wilson says. “That’s some good privilege.”
In response, some of the other students in the class remind Wilson that their session is being recorded. Wilson, ever the bold one, remains defiant.
“Why does this matter?” he asks them. “Are you saying that my comment was inappropriate?”
When one of the students tells him no, Wilson simply says, “Good.”
The TikTok has since received over 2.6 million views, with many users praising Wilson for his audacity.
“I want Evan’s confidence,” one person simply wrote.
“Evan is calling it like it is … a real one fr fr,” another commented.
“Evan’s thought process is exceptional,” a third replied. “I want to tackle the world with Evan’s vibe.”
Others tried to defend the math teacher.
“He could have a young son,” one wrote. “My son is in first grade and he just finished writing a test today and of course he needed help.”
In a follow-up TikTok, @gabbmcc cleared up confusion regarding her math teacher’s son “writing a test.” Some users had assumed Brooks’ son was also a teacher and was therefore creating a test for a class. But @gabbmcc put those theories to rest.
“So my teacher’s son is not a teacher,” she says in the clip. “He said ‘writing a test,’ but that also means taking a test … He went to help his son while he was writing the math test. That’s all.”
