Are Addison Rae and Bryce Hall dating? Your guide to TikTok’s most confusing couple

Addison Rae and Bryce Hall

Every generation has a hot-and-cold couple. Sam and Diane from “Cheers,” Ross and Rachel from “Friends,” Jim and Pam from “The Office” — and now we have Addison Rae and Bryce Hall, who are, of course, real people and not fictional characters.

Hall, a notorious bad boy, and Rae, who has a sparkling reputation as one of the most popular users on TikTok, are known as “Braddison.”

The highs and lows of their romance might seem scripted, but it’s the real deal. Here’s what we know about their relationship timeline so far.

They shared their first TikTok together on Oct. 7, 2019.

“Really hot boyfriend check,” the audio said as Hall posed for the camera. Rae, whose real name is Addison Easterling, pretended to look shocked in the background.

Over the next few days, they posted a series of flirty TikToks. They almost kissed in one, but Hall assured everyone in the comments that they are “just friends.”

Rae shared a “double date” TikTok with Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson on Dec. 19, 2019.

Rae and Hall didn’t overtly define their relationship there, but D’Amelio and Hudson were together at the time, so the parallels are hard to deny.

Hall and Rae finally publicly kissed on New Year’s Day, but there was a catch.

Hall shared “all [his] new years kisses” in an Instagram post.

Hudson is the first, and he doesn’t get to Rae until the eighth photo in the carousel, but it is clearly the most passionate!

Over the next few weeks, the couple was super cuddly and close in all their collaborations. The chemistry is undeniable.

Hall shared a post dedicated to Rae on Jan. 17, 2020.

“She’s cool sometimes,” he captioned the series of lovey-dovey photos.

After all that, Hall took to Twitter on Jan. 30, 2020, to say he and Rae are not dating.

“Addison and I are NOT dating!!! She’s doing her own thing and I’m doing mine. We’re still friends and plan to remain that way!!” he wrote. “I still love her and we’re still gonna hang n stuff but, we’re just not gonna be kissy kissy anymore … btw, neither of us are punching the air.”

Two days later, he backtracked and said the two are “talking” in an interview with Hollywire.

On Feb. 21, 2020, Rae said the two were “talking kind of on and off.”

“We got super close and we were really really really good friends,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Just trying to figure things out … Things happen and then we just decided we’re better off as friends for now.”

Then, things were quiet between them for a while.

Hall said Rae was the “best girl” he ever dated on April 18, 2020.

During a Skype interview shared by TikTokRoom on Instagram, Hall said he and Rae are just friends — but couldn’t deny what they’d shared in the past.

That same day, fellow Sway House member Griffin Johnson tweeted, “Bryce Hall can’t get over his ex.” He was, of course, referring to Rae.

A day later, Hall confirmed in a video that he would, indeed, date her again.

On May 17, 2020, Johnson continued to roast Hall for his feelings for Rae in a TikTok.

“If you’ve got the fattest crush on Addison [Rae] and you won’t admit it just keep watching this,” he said. “Aight, so now that Bryce Hall is here, hey dude. I just woke up. You wanna go to the gym? Huh? How does that sound?”

Rae’s mom entered the conversation on May 26, 2020, by denying that Hall and Rae were together.

After weeks of Hall affirming his feelings for Rae without a response from her, Sheri Easterling took to TikTok to set the record straight about her daughter’s relationship.

When one fan commented on a TikTok saying Addison and Bryce “are so happy together,” Easterling replied, “They are not together.”

This likely had something to do with the fact that Hall was arrested on drug charges the day before. Clearly, Rae’s mom didn’t want her daughter involved in that narrative.

That same weekend, Hall was spotted at a party with TikToker Eliza Manor on his lap.

Hall and Rae reunited to attend a Black Lives Matter protest on June 3, 2020.

The two joined Jaden Hossler and Blake Gray at a protest in Los Angeles and were even spotted together on the news.

They shared several TikToks they filmed together over the next few days.

On June 14, 2020, Hype House co-founder Thomas Petrou enlisted Hall to cover Rae’s new car in photos of the couple for a YouTube video. Seems pretty chummy!

Hall shared photos from a date with Rae on June 27, 2020.

The two went out for sushi that night, and Hall shared adorable pictures.

On July 1, though, Hall told Entertainment Tonight that they are just “really good friends.”

In true Braddison fashion, it only took 10 days for Hall to join Rae’s family for dinner — not necessarily something you do when you are “just friends.”

They also celebrated Rae’s one-year TikTok-iversary by recreating her first-ever post. He kissed her on the cheek.

To be fair, her friend did that in her first post … but still.

On July 16, 2020, Hall told people he had a girlfriend.

While attending a party at Jake Paul’s house — during a pandemic, mind you — he told people he was dating someone. Later, on Josh Richards’ Tea Talk YouTube show, Hall said he was single, but used that line to get girls to go away.

“I said that to girls who were trying to flirt with me so they would get off,” he said. “Like they would stop flirting with me.”

On July 24, 2020, though, Hall and Rae were spotted holding hands.

Hall then appeared on Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive, one week later to say that he and his on-again-off-again flame are “just so different.”

“She’s like family-friendly. I’m just not,” he said, comparing them to David Dobrik and Liza Koshy.

In late August 2020, the pair both independently tweeted that they are single.

“Single and ready to jingle anyways Christmas is literally in 4 months wtf,” Rae said on Aug. 26.

“I’m single now stop asking me,” Hall wrote on Aug. 30.

This split seemed to take for a few weeks — more than we can say for their past separations.

Hall said in a tweet on Sept. 7 that he wishes “nothing but the best” for Rae and her future romantic relationships.

On the same day, Rae tweeted, “stop forcing friendships into relationships,” seemingly referencing a rumor that she had started dating fellow TikToker Troy Zarba.

A new romantic interest appeared in Hall’s life on Sept. 21, 2020.

Hall was spotted getting cozy with YouTuber Tessa Brooks. They got so close at one point, it seemed as though they were going to kiss — but they didn’t.

He did post a video of the two of them together on his Instagram story, though.

That doesn’t mean Hall is totally over Rae. Days later, when a fan shared a compilation of Rae and Hall’s best moments, Hall left a comment.

“I’m not crying you are,” he wrote.

After consistently denying the relationship, Hall finally appeared on Tea Talk to admit that he and Rae were “together for a long time.”

“I’ll always have that,” he said.

Hall provided some clarity about the end of his relationship with Rae on Sept. 28, 2020, but fans weren’t buying it.

In conversation with celebrity barber Jeff Wittek, Hall said he was the one who ended things with Rae and did not provide any more information on the matter.

That struck some of Rae’s fans as untrue.

“Ok so let me get this right, Bryce claims to have been the one to end things with Addison while he still likes edits of them and is constantly talking about her in videos…” one Twitter user wrote. “Something isn’t adding up.”

Not to mention the fact that he was caught with Minor at a party in May, and was separately seen dancing with strippers at his (mid-pandemic) birthday party on Aug. 14. (By the way, Hall and fellow Sway House member Blake Gray are currently facing charges stemming from that same party.)

Of course, he still could have been the one to end it. We may never know what led to that split, because sure enough, the two are making headlines for getting cozy once again.

Hall sent Rae a cute birthday gift on Oct. 6, 2020, and they’ve been sending signals they might be back together.

Hall sent Rae gorgeous roses for her 20th birthday along with a sweet (for him) message.

“20 isn’t really a cool year, but I hope you enjoy this as the alternative,” he wrote. “Happy Birthday Bad Bleep.”

Days earlier, Hall confessed that he not only wants Rae back, but also wants to marry her — and a lie detector verified the utterances as true. Ah, YouTube.

They were spotted together for the first time since their split on Oct. 17 at Saddle Ranch in Los Angeles.

Rae shared a TikTok and a YouTube video of their reunion the day after … which has since been deleted.

On Oct. 20, though, Hall was accused of inciting a brawl at a different Los Angeles restaurant that left an employee injured, so things could have changed in his romantic life since then.

As of Oct. 27, 2020, the two are getting cozy again.

Rae shared a TikTok of herself lip-syncing to “Promiscuous” by Nelly Furtado, and Bryce appeared in the background to join her … and nearly kiss her at the very end.

They dressed as equally notorious couple Harley Quinn and the Joker for Halloween, too.

On Nov. 2, 2020, the couple officially confirmed they are back together.

Rae shared photos of that now-infamous Halloween couple’s costume to Instagram with the caption, “crazier.”

It’s a reference to an old “Suicide Squad” meme from 2016, which feels a bit dated for the couple-of-the-moment, but regardless — comments from their friends, like Griffin Johnson and Jaden Hossler, seem to confirm they’re back on for real this time.

Rae and Hall formally confirmed they are officially-official on Nov. 30, 2020.

In a YouTube video shared Nov. 30, Rae cleared the air on much of the drama her relationship with Hall had endured, and made the timeline of the whole thing a bit easier to follow. She confirmed that they are officially together now.

Of course, that didn’t last long. A blind item shared by gossip account Deuxmoi had fans thinking the whole relationship was staged and set to end on Dec. 3.

They ended up unfollowing each other on social media that day — but it seems that it was all just a prank on their devoted viewers.

What will happen between them next? The fan accounts and I are dying to know.

Did Bryce Hall cheat on Addison Rae with Loren Gray in February 2021?

For a few tense hours around Valentine’s Day, fans were afraid Hall was caught cheating on Rae with Gray after the paparazzi snapped photos of them holding hands.

Photographer Kevin Wong uploaded a video to his YouTube channel on Feb. 13, 2021 — dangerously close to Valentine’s Day — that showed Gray and Hall sitting together at a table outside.

Fans spotted the fact he was wearing a mic the whole time and called it out immediately. Hall admitted it was a prank in a YouTube video the following day.

“You got it spot-on along with the hundreds of thousands of other people who saw the mic,” Hall said in response to Keemstar, a YouTuber who also shared he thought it was a gag. “I did try to pull off the prank of the century. Sadly, it failed.”

Bryce Hall faced numerous cheating allegations starting Feb. 28, 2021.

Both halves of the power couple were spotted at different tables at the same restaurant on Feb. 28, suggesting there may be trouble in paradise.

On March 1, drama YouTuber Keemstar claimed to have evidence that Hall cheated on Rae during a trip to Las Vegas with a woman named Dana Wolf. Hall responded to those allegations with a tweet, saying, simply, “I didn’t cheat on Addison.”

There were also rumors that Hall cheated on Rae on the same trip with an influencer named Saiviantha. Saiviantha denied cheating on March 2 and said she and Hall were just attending the same event.

When paparazzi confronted Rae about allegations Hall cheated on her, she appeared to cry.

A day later, Rae took to Instagram to ask for privacy.

“Sharing my life with y’all makes me happy, but some things I choose to handle offline,” she wrote. “When and if I want to share, I will make that decision.”

Addison Rae stayed fairly quiet on social media until she released music on March 19, 2021.

Rae dodged rumors and questions about her relationship with Hall for a few weeks until she did the unexpected and launched her music career.

She still didn’t say much about Hall until March 23, when she shared promotional art from her self-love anthem’s release with the caption “doing me” — seemingly confirming that she’s focusing on herself and not a relationship at this time.

A quick search revealed that Rae also stopped following Hall on Instagram, though he still follows her.

The cheating allegations followed by resounding silence and subtle hints seem to suggest the couple is no more once again. Time will tell how this story ultimately ends, though.
