However, the term Nap Dress was truly coined by Hill House Home founder and CEO Nell Diamond in January 2020. Essentially, this type of dress can pass as a nightgown, but it’s also appropriate daywear, thanks to its billowy shape, smocking and opaque fabric. It has a sort of prairie-like charm to it with its ruffled tiers and airy prints.

According to The New Yorker, Diamond describes her own aesthetic as a “Victorian ghost,” so this dress falls right in line at Hill House Home. The brand also specializes in bedding and tableware that looks straight out of a posh garden party.
However, for those looking to get in on the trend now — but expecting it to be short-lived— you may not want to shell out over $100 for one of Hill House Home’s designs (or even splurge more at Sleeper).
