T-Pain shares social media mishap involving dozens of other celebrities

Have you checked your Instagram DMs lately? Not the normal ones, the ones buried in the “request” folder. You might want to do that now.

Don’t just take it from me, either — take it from T-Pain, a musician who has won both Grammys and The Masked Singer. He first took to TikTok, and later to Instagram, to apologize to his followers for ignoring his DM requests for literal years.

“I was today years old when I found out about the request folder on Instagram that’s full of celebs trying to reach me,” he wrote in the caption of a video, which showed him scrolling through dozens of messages from verified accounts. “I’ve been accidentally straight up ignoring these people for like two years.”

Big names included Diplo, Viola Davis and Fergie.

“How do I super apologize?” T-Pain continued in the post. “Press conference? Town hall meeting? I’m dumb.”

In the comments, other celebrities shared his pain.

“Omg I literally just did that same thing like 2 weeks ago,” Ashanti wrote.

“SAME WTFFFFF,” Meghan Trainor said.

Other commenters lamented the possible collaborations he missed out on.

“That’s a lot of money you left on the table,” one said.

“You done ignored some millions,” another wrote.

“So what I’m hearing is, is that 2022 is going to be the second coming of ‘featuring T-pain’ as he makes his way down this list releasing bop after bop,” a Twitter user shared.

The way we see it, there’s only one solution — an album full of “missed connection” features with long-term residents of T-Pain’s DM request folder.
