Times have changed. Today, many couples choose to move in together before walking down the aisle. But how do you find wedding gifts for couples who have everything already?
Well, rather than needing all new home goods, they’re generally looking to upgrade. Think new cookware, bedding, matching luggage or even money for a downpayment on a house.
Modern traditions and rising housing costs have led more couples to move in together before getting married. In fact, a Pew Research Center Study found that 59% of adults ages 18 to 44 have lived with an unmarried partner at some point in their lives, and 66% of married adults saw living together as a step towards their marriage.
With that said, there’s a good chance you’ll be looking for a unique wedding gift for a couple who already lives together if you have a wedding to attend this year. You can always look to the registry or, of course, give them cash. But if most things have already been purchased or you want to give them something from the heart, you’ll have to get creative.
Upgrades to anything in their home could get kind of expensive. So if you’re looking for cheap wedding gift ideas, go with something more personal like framing their wedding invitation, getting them a gift card to their favorite restaurant or gifting them a set of matching passport holders and luggage tags for the honeymoon.
