The Know is proud to celebrate National Black Business Month. During this month, our team will highlight a wide range of Black-owned brands. We encourage you to support today and beyond.

Once upon a time, it was hard to find a Black-owned haircare brand at most mainstream beauty stores, let alone one committed to “clean” ingredients. That’s what makes Briogeo such a game-changer. Not only are their products made with natural ingredients and designed for a wide variety of hair types and textures, but they’re also highly effective too!

Nancy Twine started Briogeo in her New York City apartment in 2013. Inspired by her grandmother’s beauty recipes, Twine partnered with a team of natural chemists to bring her “clean” creations to the masses.

Today, Briogeo has grown into a comprehensive haircare brand that includes eight different product lines and legions of loyal fans. Briogeo’s products are available at both Sephora and Ulta; shoppers can also purchase the products at the brand’s website, briogeohair.com.

With every new Briogeo endeavor, Twine is committed to “clean” ingredients. “We should treat our hair the same way we treat our skin; by nurturing it with ingredients that detoxify, hydrate, and protect,” Twine says on the company website.

Whether your locks are dry and damaged or thin and delicate, there’s a Briogeo product that will work wonders for you. Check out some of the brand’s most popular picks below.
