This cheap blow-dryer is shockingly better than my $200 one

There are two types of people: those who love doing their hair and those who don’t. However, this Hairatage hair dryer is a tool that both groups will love. Plus, as someone in the latter group, I have thoughts about this inexpensive yet amazingly effective hair tool.

Hairatage is a brand by influencer Mindy McKnight. McKnight created the brand when she couldn’t find products that worked for her multicultural family. Hair care products based on hair type were already part of the Hairatage collection, but the brand just recently dropped hair tools and accessories, too. The true star of the line, in my opinion? The Hairatage hair dryer, hands down.

The hair dryer, which has two different speeds and three different heat settings, uses ion technology to help reduce frizz and leave your hair looking shinier. The 8-inch spiral cord is another highlight because it means you can extend your arms far and wide while styling your hair.

My Review of the Hairatage Hair Dryer

I’ve tested many hair tools, and I’ve even purchased quite a few blow-dryers with my own money. However, this thing blows like nothing else I’ve tried before. Even though it’s only $40, it’s powerful AF. I could tell it truly did its thing when I attached it to my Bonnet Hood Hair Drying Attachment. My $200 hair dryer didn’t even fill the entire cap, but the Hairatage hair dryer blew enough air to make my bonnet hood look like a hot air balloon.

Additionally, you can put the hair dryer on the hottest setting, and it doesn’t feel like you are burning your scalp off. Using my Rizo’s Curls Diffuser with the hair dryer on high, there was an even distribution of heat, which can be hard to find in hair dryers.

Customers at Walmart give it 4.4 out of five stars, where one shopper explained how fast it dries your hair.

“I have been in the need of a new hair dryer for a long time, and I am so happy with this!” the customer wrote. “It dries so fast, and it doesn’t get so hot that you feel like you’re frying your hair. My daughter has super thick hair, and she was amazed at [how] fast her hair dried!”

Another customer who gave the hair dryer four stars said, “this is comparable to salon-quality.”

“I have purchased many a blow-dryer, and this is comparable to salon-quality in the regard that the heat level is more elevated and the speeds are variable,” they wrote in a review. “I really enjoyed using this dryer and feel like my hair dried in a fraction of the time.”

If you’re due for a new hot hair tool, I honestly think the Hairatage hair dryer is worth it. It’s the only blow-dryer I’m reaching for these days. Not to mention, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a blow-dryer that delivers salon-quality results.
