A cozy throw blanket is an essential piece in creating a comfier living room. Seriously, wrap yourself up in any of these blankets and you’ll never want to leave the couch. You’ll be looking for new TV series to binge and books to read!

However, there are a few key things you need to consider when buying a throw blanket. For one, it needs to be comfy — any blanket that feels itchy just isn’t worth having. It should also be stylish because it’s likely to be draped over the back of your couch. You can use a throw blanket to add a pop of color to the room or to better tie a color scheme all together. And finally, it should be machine-washable. You’ll want to give it a good cleaning if you spill a drink or a few snacks on it, or even after a few regular uses.

All of these blankets check every box (minus the faux fur blanket at the end, which is dry-clean only). So you can’t go wrong curling up with any one of these.

1. Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Rib Trim Throw, $59.97 (Orig. $98)

Barefoot Dreams has gained attention as the Kardashians’ favorite blanket for traveling and more. But the hype is real — these blankets really are worth their higher price tag. However, if you don’t want to spend $100+, you can find the brand’s blankets marked down at Nordstrom Rack for nearly 50% off. They’re just as soft and cozy but at a more affordable price point. This one comes in several neutral colors and features white trim around the edge.

[Editor’s note: I got this blanket for my living room from Nordstrom Rack and it is incredibly soft. Not a Netflix binge-sesh goes by without it!]

This oversized throw blanket is perfect for sharing but cheap enough that you can get a few for the whole crew. It’s also extra plush and soft like faux fur, but it’s machine-washable if you accidentally spill your snacks on it. It comes in a variety of mostly neutral shades, but you could also go bold with a dark blue, pink or clay-colored blanket as well.

3. Target Project 62 Shiny Chenille Throw Blanket, 24.99

Chenille is a knitted fabric that feels soft and cozy on your skin but also looks incredibly stylish. This chenille blanket comes in four neutral colors for draping over your sofa. However, it’s been so popular that two colors have already sold out. You can still snag the pink and neutral taupe versions while they’re in stock, though.
