Children have the wildest imaginations. It’s not uncommon for them to blend fact and fiction to concoct some crazy stories.
One mother had to grapple with her daughter’s bizarre conspiracy theory: that mom is actually an alien. Kira J tweets about life, motherhood and her children’s hilarious antics. She shared footage of her daughter Nala crying over the unimaginable.
“My daughter found my passport today and thought it was paperwork to show I’m an alien,” Kira J tweeted. “Shoulda never let her watch Men In Black.”
“Why are you crying?” Kira J asked.
Nala held open the mother’s passport as she hysterically bawled. She opened to a page featuring images of the Earth from outer space.
“And what do you think that means?” the mother asked.
“That you’re an alien,” Nala replied through tears.
Kira J couldn’t help but chuckle at her daughter’s ridiculous assertion.
“That means I’m an alien? It’s not meaning I’m an alien,” Kira J explained. “These are the places mommy has traveled to. And this is just a picture of the Earth as I travel. You’re scared of mommy now?”
The video racked up 2.7 million views on Twitter. The mother posted a follow-up to show things had settled down. It looks like she was able to explain to Nala what a passport really is.
In the second video, Kira J asked her daughter to explain what the book really was. Nala knew it was a passport and that the stamps were for the places you travel.
“It just looked like an alien made it. And that looked like it was a spaceship,” Nala said of her confusion.
But in the end, she believed her mom over Men In Black, thankfully.
