An ongoing joke in the Kardashian family is that matriarch Kris Jenner’s favorite child was Kim but is now Kylie. The gag takes center stage in an episode from 2017 when Kris brags to Kim about how Kylie gifted her a beautiful Smeg toaster “just because.”
Kris must have really been smitten because, for Christmas in 2019, Kris gifted the rest of her family kettles and toasters from Smeg’s collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana.
For the famous family, the regular toaster, which retails for $179.95, is probably not that expensive. If you need one but don’t want to spend the lump of cash, you can get a similar-looking retro one on Amazon for nearly one-fourth of the price.
The Keenstone two-slice toaster comes in light blue, black and beige, and costs $49.99 on Amazon. Right now, it’s on sale for only $40.99. More than 2,000 Amazon reviewers give it five stars.

You’ll be glad to know that its beauty isn’t the only perk. It has an adjustable knob with six toasting grades, from soft to extra crispy. It also has a defrosting function to thaw out frozen bread, a reheat function to warm up cold bread and a cancel function to shut it off and stop heating at any time.
For easy clean-up, there’s a removable crumb tray that you can slide out to dump crumbs into the trash or compost. Plus, there’s a spot in the back for storing the cord.
Honestly, the Keenstone toaster is pretty much just like any other toaster — but so is Smeg’s. The key is in its retro design. Isn’t it better to have pretty appliances you’re excited to keep on the countertop? The Kardashians seem to think so.
You can take a look at Smeg’s retro toaster below for comparison, or if you want to go all out with your bougie self, get the original.
