MacBook user baffles TikTok with major life hack for finding emojis on the keyboard

A TikTok user is going viral after revealing the emoji keyboard shortcut on a Mac.

It’s a life hack many viewers said they weren’t aware of, despite how shockingly easy it is to do. As it turns out, you can activate the emoji keyboard with just a shortcut.

The info comes courtesy of the popular and aptly named user @mac_hacks.

His video is just the latest in a long line of tech hacks to go viral on the app. In recent months, users have also revealed tricks for unlocking an iPhone with voice control, storing your AirPods more easily and blocking spam calls.

As with all of those hacks, @mac_hacks’ trick came as news to plenty of viewers, while others commented that they already knew it.

In the video, @mac_hacks shows how you can activate the emoji keyboard shortcut on a Mac by pressing the control key, the command key and the spacebar at the same time. The combo will activate the emoji keyboard, which can also be opened in the “Edit” tab of most browser settings.

@mac_hacks explains, the shortcut will work in most programs that involve typing. The keyboard features a long list of commonly used emojis, plus plenty of other symbols.

Many users were blown away by the hack.

“What, this exists?” one commenter wrote.

Meanwhile, others suggested that it wasn’t actually very helpful. Some explained that they just activated the keyboard with a few extra clicks, while others pointed out that many newer MacBook models allow you to use emojis via the touch bar at the top of the keyboard.
