If you waited too long to do your holiday shopping or you just don’t know what to get someone on your list, that’s where e-gift cards come in.
An e-gift card, also known as a digital gift card or online gift card, can be easily sent via email to a friend, coworker, family member or anyone else. Many stores offer them, which is especially helpful during a pandemic when leaving the house to go to a crowded store isn’t super desirable.
Keep in mind that shipping delays are also in effect this year. The United States Postal Service (USPS) recommends ordering gifts by Dec. 15 in order to get it by Christmas. Other companies like UPS and FedEx recommend ordering gifts early as well, but of course, offer express shipping options for a fee.
Lucky for you, websites like GiftCards.com and Gift Card Mall also make it easy to purchase gift cards from several different brands (including classic Visa gift cards). Gift Card Mall even sells multi-store gift cards, including some that donate a portion of proceeds to charities like the Wounded Warrior Project, Feeding America and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
However, if your recipient is notorious for not checking their email, you can also send physical gift cards through the mail. Although, make sure to check the shipping times for these to ensure your gift card will get there in time!
