The world’s first stand-up water slide is getting absolutely roasted on TikTok.
When most people ride a water slide, they probably aren’t thinking, “I wish I was standing up the whole time.” Yet, the mad scientists (or whoever concocted this bizarre attraction) at AquaMagis in Plettenberg, Germany, seemed to have gone full-speed ahead with the idea for the Sauerland Surfer slide.
TikToker @tuberides.official shared what it was like to take a spin on the stand-up water slide, and people were not impressed.
Instead of sitting on a tube, riders stand along a narrow track surrounding the perimeter of an indoor pool. Water propels the person forward and causes them to glide through the slide before landing in a small, shallow pool of water. It doesn’t end in a big splash, nor does it have any twists or peaks like other water rides.
The Sauerland Surfer seemed like more of a novelty than an event to most TikTokers who couldn’t help but clown the slide.
“That’s the most awkward thing ever,” a user wrote.
“First and last,” another joked.
“This looks as fun as drinking 2-month-old milk,” someone commented.
“Even he didn’t find it fun,” a person said of the rider in the video.
“Sometimes there’s a reason why nobody has done it before,” a TikToker replied.
