A McDonald’s employee in London is getting all kinds of praise online.
Richard Walker (@ukrichardwalker) is an employee at the Liverpool Street McDonald’s in London’s Finsbury neighborhood. He’s also the restaurant’s self-proclaimed “McMC,” a name he has more than earned with his in-store musical performances.
In late April, TikTok users began recording clips of Walker holding a microphone and singing as he calls out orders. Walker then started posting the videos to his own page.
The most popular of those videos features Walker singing Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It,” waving his hands from side to side as a line of customers joins in.
In another video, Walker sings Bruno Mars’s “Just the Way You Are,” with some help from the crowd waiting for their food.
“I think I need to be re-employed and get a vocal coach,” Walker joked in his caption.
Yet another clip shows Walker transitioning seamlessly from work to performance. He begins the video calling out an order number, but after the customer fails to respond, he kills time by leading the whole restaurant in song.
“Calling order numbers was the reason we have a mic, so it’s good to see I remember that now and again,” Walker wrote in the post.
It’s clear from Walker’s clips — and also on his comments section — that many customers love his performances.
“This guy is a legend,” one user wrote.
“I’ve been spamming McDonald’s customer service feedback since you entertained us all on Friday,” another added.
“The best McDonald’s in London,” another agreed. “Workers are always a vibe.”
It’s not clear how often Walker entertains his customers on the job, or how long he’s been doing this. One commenter, however, claimed to have a 2020 video showing him singing a John Legend song at the same McDonald’s.
