When your Ring doorbell camera detects movement at your door at 5:06 a.m., the natural response is confusion mixed with fear.
So when TikTok user mitchapalooza’s Ring camera sensors went off in the wee hours of the morning, he naturally jumped out of bed to check the footage and see who — or what — was outside.
“Somebody’s at my door,” Mitch said in a video about the experience. “Popped out of bed real quick.”
Once he reviewed the footage, though, Mitch was able to breathe a sign of relief. As it turns out, the stranger at the door wasn’t a person at all, but a curious little cardinal.
Many people were moved by Mitch’s “beautiful visitor.”
“Someone just wanted to say good morning,” one person said.
“That’s kind of awesome, really,” another user commented.
Some people said that the cardinal was a deceased loved one paying Mitch a visit.
“Someone from heaven is coming to visit you and making it known,” one user said.
“A loved one who probably promised to visit and never got the chance to,” another person added.
If the cardinal is a loved one saying hello, maybe they could wait until after breakfast next time?
