In the heat of summer, traditional desserts like cookies and cakes can feel a little heavy. But don’t fret because these five desserts make for a light and refreshing end to almost any meal.
1. Lemon drops
When life gives you lemons, you can make lemon drops, thanks to TikTok user and pastry chef Patrick Conroy (@pastrycon). This light and refreshing recipe is easy and takes only about 10 minutes to make and a couple of hours in the fridge to set.
2. Vegan mango sorbet
This mango sorbet from TikTok user and vegan dietitian Alyssa Fontaine RD (@alyssafontainerd) needs only three ingredients! The magic happens in a food processor with frozen mangos, lime juice and warm water. Mix it all up to make it nice and creamy — and voila! Sorbet in seconds!
3. Chocolate-covered frozen banana pops
Chocolate banana pops are a homemade classic, perfect for lazy summer days. And this recipe from TikTok user Macy Blackwell (@macy.blackwell) is no exception. Blackwell’s step-by-step tutorial involves freezing bananas dipped in melted chocolate chips and sprinkled with your desired toppings.
4. Watermelon pizza
TikTok user and chef Melissa Johnson’s (@bestfriendsforfrosting) unique twist on classic recipes has earned her a following of more than 300,000 users. And her refreshing take on pizza is the perfect appetizer for an evening soiree. All you need is watermelon, whipped cream and berries, and you’re good to go!
5. Grain-free honey cardamom berry tartlets
These grain-free honey cardamom berry tartlets from TikTok user Liz Moody (@lizmoody) are so easy to make and almost too pretty to eat. Moody’s recipe involves mixing yogurt, vanilla, honey and cardamom to fill grain-free tartlet shells. Top the tartlets with your favorite berries and a drizzle of honey. Add an edible flower for an especially Pinterest-worthy finish.
