TikTok has a new hack for dogs — a pet grooming hammock.

The viral trick involves placing them in a comfortable, suspended sling, and it can supposedly make it way easier to trim your dog’s nails.

Originally, the hack gained attention thanks to a user named @mochapom, who showed how she easily trims her dog’s nails by suspending them in a small tote bag with leg holes

As it turns out, there are actually gadgets on Amazon dedicated solely to this concept. Behold the Dog Grooming Hammock.

This pet grooming hammock allegedly keeps your furry friend calm and patient during one of their least favorite activities — all while making it easier for you to quickly trim their nails.

It almost sounds too good to be true. That’s why In The Know producer Poppy Shen decided to give it a try with some help from her tiny doggie assistant Pretzel.

To see how it went, check out the video above or keep reading below.

Does the viral pet grooming hammock really work?

First off, it’s worth noting that this hack only works for certain-sized dogs. Pretzel is 8 pounds, which was big enough to fit into the hammock, but smaller dogs run the risk of falling through the leg holes. On the other hand, anything too big could break whatever rod you’re suspending them from.

Thankfully, though, Pretzel had no problem getting into this thing. To use the doggie hammock, Poppy simply dropped Pretzel into the gadget and helped her legs through the holes. Then she suspended her from a closet hanger rod and got to work.

Overall, Poppy found it extremely easy to trim Pretzel’s nails this way. She noticed the pup was unusually calm, and the entire process was over in minutes. As crazy as this hack looks, it actually works great.
