Mom-to-be heartbroken by husband’s ‘selfish’ due date plans: ‘He needs to set his priorities straight’

A woman doesn’t understand why her husband would rather watch a Batman flick than the birth of his child

She shared the issue with Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum. The new Batman movie is debuting the same day she expects to give birth. But her husband would rather see the movie than attend the birth.

“My husband and I are expecting a baby,” she explained. “As you may know, there is a new Batman movie releasing in early March. My husband is a big fan of that kind of stuff and wants to see it on opening day. The issue is that our estimated due date is exactly on that day.”

“I know that only a fraction of babies are actually born on the exact due date, but I have always been very regular on my periods and I have a feeling that I may be one of those cases.”

But when she confronted her husband about the issue, he accused her of being emotional.

“He says it is important to see the movie the first day because of spoilers,” she said. “And that, even if I end up having the baby that day while he is watching the movie, at worst he would arrive a few hours late and it’s not such a big deal.”

“He says I am being irrational and emotional because of being pregnant. I am upset because I feel deprioritized by him.”

Redditors thought the mom was being reasonable.

“He needs to set his priorities straight,” a user said

“He sounds really selfish and immature,” another wrote

“I’m sorry you’re having a baby with someone with such messed up priorities,” someone commented.
